Lamby produces some real beauties!
The season finishes as it started. With a bang! Including a 29.10lb common carp and a 26.08lb mirror carp!
Berty was the lucky capture of Starburst at an all time top weight of 26.08lb a hard fish to catch and a fish hard fished for. WE ARE PLEASED FOR YOU MATE!
A few other fish came out including a nice 22lb carp for Dave.
Pete then finished off the season with the elusive Frodo. He was at his largest weight so far of 29.10lb. Pete also had another mid double during his day session! Top angling!

Lamby goes into overdrive for 24hrs!
Members Tom and Dave have a great session. Here is Tom's story:
"We got down to Lamby Wednesday at midday it was nice and hot, so we moved down to the far end near the motorway bridge. Fish were rolling on the opposite bay so single hook baits were fired over. I had a 9lb common first off then opted to move into deeper water for the night! I let Dave move into my swim (he says with huge regrets).
Dave then manage 4 fish in two hours from where I'd caught my first fish! Dave had two stockies of around 8lb, Half Moon at 29lb and Peanut at 28.8! I had a 17lb common in between Dave's too biggies.
On Thursday I had a 22lb common, a 18lb common and lost a decent fish. Nothing to report last night, think Ross winkled out a couple and Rob Butcher had a 13lb common."
A few other fish were caught as well, Sion landing his first carp of the season a 22lb common.

Lamby continues to fish well with the bigger fish waking up!
Our bailiff John popped down for a few hours this week and quickly landed an impressive 26lb common carp.
Rob Butcher fished a few days landing eight of the beautiful new stock to 12lb a mid double grass carp and a 21.8lb mirror carp. His guest Scott landed his second twenty this year, a lean 21.10lb common.
Tyrel landed his first carp of the year a pretty 10lb carp. Jamie Mamo also landed his first fish of the year with a brace of mirror carp to 18lb.
Ross got in on the action with a lovely long common of 23.11lb. The pick up came shortly after casting to showing fish, sadly he lost a bigger fish. Spencer not to be out done then landed the golden Flora after only just casting out! On the scales she went 27.11lb. He backed this up with another carp of 10lb.
Rich popped down for a few hours Sunday afternoon and winkled out a couple of fish to just under 20lb!

As Nigel Botherway said on Sky Sorts “Lamby is on Fire”
This weekend produced a hat full of carp! Kevin continues to do well and is on top form landing 2 perfect new mirror carp. He then went on to break his PB (again!) landing a lovely golden common of 19lb.
Scott landed his first Lamby carp, a long common of 21.10lb. Pete aka - High Tower landed a gorgeous mirror carp of around 10lb and lost another. Wuzy fished a quick one night session and ripped Lamby apart with 12 runs. This included 6 stunning stockies to 13lb. The rarely caught ghost carp at 13.8lb and he also put Apple on the bank at 20.10lb. Another member Mr. Casimus landed his first Lamby carp a 17lb common.
Let's not forget the bailiffs. Pete landing the first of the common carp stocked this year, now 13.10lb and a 9lb mirror carp. Spencer landed a pretty mirror of 9lb and lost a big fish. After blanking for 2 days Ross moved swims and within 5 minutes had a screaming run resulting in Half Moon on the mat at 29.1lb! Ross commented “what a weekend that's all I can say!”

Lamby is fishing well for the winter!
The lake is presently surpassing many expectations with the fish feeding well and putting on weight fast.
The new stock is showing good growth rates of a couple of pounds already. The stocking along with the mild winter and plenty of supplementary feeding is producing good results.
Bailiffs Ross and Spencer had 14 runs over the weekend landing over 10 fish to 18lb. While regular Kev had a new PB of 18lb!

Lamby socking confirmed for next winter.
Lamby will recieve another fish stocking in January next year. We have placed an order for ten Mark Simmonds carp of 25lb+. These fish are still young fish and have alot of growing to do. They are going to be big! |

Lamby gets stocked!
After over 6 months of planning it has finally happened our new stock arrived. I couldn't have wished for a better stocking it all went as planned!
As for the fish what can you say - They surpassed our highest expectations. All 50 of them were stunning. There were 3 common carp and 47 mirrors (most of which were either heavily or fully scaled!) Thanks to AJS fisheries for the quality of stock and for the professional service!

Lamby produces a new 30lb carp!!!
As we go into October the weather is still very mild and the fish are still feeding well.
Several fish have been out with Smartbait's accounting for several fish for Rich and Ross up to low 20's. Rob Butcher also caught a low 20lb common and John had a low double.
Wuzzy had a great result in the shape of a 30.02lb common carp.
This is the first time this fish has gone 30lb!!

The fish have started feeding up for the winter
The carp are on a bit of a feeding freezy at the moment. Probably because the winter is drawing in fast now or maybe they know they will have some more friends over for dinner soon!
Several of the big fish have been out with 6 fish over 25lb caught in the last few weeks.

The Charity match was a great sucsess
We had 16 anglers from all over the UK turn up to fish the first charity match. This helped us raise £400 for LATCH a local charity helping children with cancer.
Everyone had a good time and the match was won by Tom Barlow and his guest who caught carp up to 25lb.
The match was sponsored by Smartbait who supplied the prizes.
So a big thankyou goes to them!

The lake record doesn't last long
The carp fishing is a bit slow at the moment. Mike Partridge has had a good result though and landed three fish to 22lb over the bank holiday.
A young angler called Mathew Besley fished on the weekend and caught Rudd to over 2lb and a new lake record perch at 2.01lb!

A few fish out this week. Steve Vine from Merthy fished his first session on the lake and with a little help from our bailiff Pete he managed a 22lb and 16lb common. Thats not bad when his previous PB was 12lb!
Several fish were caught over the weekend and David Rawlings caught a 17lb grass carp and the 9lb fully scaled known as twinkle.
Gareth (Big G) had a 20lb common and a little linear. While Wuzy had a good weekend landing a 17lb grass carp a 20 and 25lb common carp. Also somehow Rob Butcher managed to land a 17lb common which Wuzy hooked but Rob landed on his own rods! Work that one out. |

The gates have all been sorted!
The fishing has been a bit slower this week but the great news is the car park is finally open!
Several fish have been out with Tom Robson catching a 23lb common and a double figure mirror in a mid week overnight session.
Dave Rawlings also had a result in the form of Ray another 23lb common.
A few other doubles and some grass carp have also been caught. |

The fish keep on coming!
The last few weeks have been a bit hectic down the lake and the fish still keep coming out. Several fish were caught during the week up to 23lb,
but it was the weekend when most of the action happened.
Ross landed a 10lb mirror and a 26lb common carp while his brother Spencer landed a lovely 17lb common and a ghost carp of 10lb.
Peter fished a short overnight session and had no fewer than 3 fish, an 18lb common, a 21lb common and to top it off caught peanut at 28.8lb.
Craig Jones was back in amongst the action and landed a 17lb common off the bridge and lost Star Burst at the net, gutted!.
John Kellow from Newport had another cracking session hooking five fish and landing four to 21lb.
Chris Pearce has turned his ball skills into fishing skills, landing Nemo down in weight at 23.7lb.
Gareth (Big G) finished off the weekend with a brace of 20's.

One for the Stalker
Rich - The Fisheries Manager fished a day session and landed a nice 20.12lb common carp.
The fish are starting to move now with a few fish seen cruising and a couple of fish jumping.

Ross strikes again!
Ross managed to land this stunning 29.8lb common carp in hard conditions this weekend.
Wuzzy also managed to winkle out the little fully scaled at 8lb. Not bad for a fish that weighed 4lb last year.

One night - four fish!
Head Bailiff Ross had a good night this weekend, landing a 19lb leather carp and three 20lb common carp weighing 24.8lb, 24.10lb and 27.4lb. Job done!
