Carp Nations is a new charity event to be held at Lamby Lake in Cardiff Wales starting on the 24th of April 2009. The match is an England V Wales team match. Ten English competitors will fish against ten Welsh competitors to see which nation can catch the most carp over a 48 hour period. All funds will be giving to charity. The charity we are supporting with this event is LATCH one close to us being based in Cardiff. LATCH is a voluntary organisation set up to support the special requirements of the children's oncology centre in Wales which is based at the Children's Hospital for Wales to help affected families and promote research in childhood cancer. They are very much an ongoing charity as the needs of the children change constantly with new treatment techniques and new equipment being made available. Essential parents' accommodation is also provided. All this is dependent on the public's help to ensure that children with cancer and leukemia in Wales obtain the best facilities available. The event has already raised a great deal of interest and support. As well as local anglers we have representatives from across the UK including both the Carp Society and Angling publications. So thank you to everyone for their help and support. |
