We really need to get away from the singles and PVA bag thing it is no good for the fishing and the fish.
I can't understand why so little bait goes in the lake (in the warmer months). I think if you actaully feed the fish the catch results would be better and the fish would obviously grow, so a win win situation. |

Yeah I understand that mate but I often see people fishing with a bag of boilies which can cost up to £12 for a KG.
For that one bag of boilies you could get 20KG of hemp or 15Kg of corn (75p a kilo Tescos). I know Howard has been getting Vitalin for about £10 for 15kgs (this is dry when wet it is more like 25kgs).
We also tried buying pellet in bulk to sell to members at a really cheap price we could do you about 20Kg's for £25. There was not enough interest though so we just used it to feed the lake.
There are ways to do it! |

Yes think we should change the rule no mass baiting of particles as it causes some confussion, they are fine as long as they are prepared right. Shall change it to no mass baiting of nuts!
We could also get in a bulk load of pellets too. This time 20mm halibuts so they are more use in a fishing situation, great to feed or use on the hair.
If you are up for that I can get a load in for the social so you can get it there! Would be about £25 for a 20kg bag! A Bargain!!!! |

| the problem is there is hardly any protien in any of the particles and not much in pellets either compared to bollies wich are full of protien if u could source a deal with a bait company for £5 a kilo then that would be more efficent and then more people will buy them at that price |

Pellets are really high in protien in you choose the correct one, and more importantly they are based around digestable protiens so they are readily availible. The way pellets are designed are to reach an required set protien level and the ingredients are based around reaching this protien level.
The pellet Rich is talking about buying is a growing pellet with a really high protien content as well a a fat rich oil content that is safe and designed to maximise growth.
The Lamby bait was designed espically with the intention of growing the fish on in the lake and the digestable protien content is huge along with a balanced carbohydrate profile and even contains a marine vitamin sorce. The fact we produce and supply it for £6.00 a kilo means we make nothing on it and why more people don't use it i have'nt a clue as so many good fish have been taken on it.
In regards to particles this time of year is a great time to introduce them in large quantitys as they are amino rich and stuffed with natural sugers which will induce the fish to get feeding. They also form a sorce of roughage which is great for their digestion.
I agree with Rich in that if everyone starts to introduce bait the fish will only benifit from it and Lamby will get better and better. If you want cheap particles and vitalin etc let me know as i have several trade suppliers and am happy to let you have them at cost. |

It is funny do you think that Simmo or any of the other fish suppliers feed and grow their fish on boillies !!
No they feed them on pellet and particles a balanced diet!
As Tom said they are both great for the fish in the right quanities and prepared right! |

If anybodies interested have a look at this video from Sky Sports Tight Lines made at VS Fisheries.
This is the two lecturers from Sparsholt college Simon Scott and Viv Shears who are just about the most qualified people to discuss fish diets in the U.K.!!!
The video shows them growing on fish for stocking into Car Park Lake Yateley and what they feed these fish on.
Enjoy!

theres a number of companys willing to sell their bait for 5 pound a key , vision baits , goeff bowers , jason rider , bm baits to name just a few , pellets sound good deal too and will get the poundage into the lake quicker than the small pellets . maybe you could place a big order for for a load of boilles so there in stock for us to order then use as we go along instead of having to wait 2 weeks for a order plus if its a big enough order the cost will come down more . |

| Tyler has just done a good job of confirming this point and landed his PB Frodo at 29.02lb fishing over a Kilo of Crab & Cray while most are struggling! |

| cost of boilies are not that bad if you buy a good basemix and roll them yourself. A 10 kilo basemix from MAINLINE with appropriate activator, a tub of Polaris, and a fair few dozen eggs (total cost less than £100) made almost 17kilo of boilies at just around £6.50 a kilo give or take a few pence. I have already ordered 20 kilo basemix to start the new season with, and will be ordering another 40 kilo before the end of the year. My bait cost for the year will be around £500 for 90-95 kilo boilies. I might be up for a 25kilo sack or two of pellets Rich. |

| just have a look on cc moores site and make your own base mix, that way you know exactly whats gone in your bait and can control the attractors and food values and spend as much or as little as you like. |

OK this already seems to be working the fish are coming out over bait at the moment for sure and they are all really fat with stockies coming out now at almost 15lb.
If you want any of the 20mm halibut pellets let me know I will bring some bags to the social you can buy some there.
I doubt you would get this quality pellet cheaper anywhere as we are buying it in bulk from source and not making anything on it really, it's just to get it going in for the fish!
There will be a fair bit of it going in over the close season as well!! |
